Small Business Saturday

With Small Business Saturday just around the corner, I’ve complied some of my favorite self-started businesses to shop from. Although some have grown into mega-successful companies they started out small – built on trust, loyalty and appreciation for their customers. Not to mention, they give back to their communities. I understand that giving a Starbucks gift card is easy, because there’s a Starbucks everywhere you turn. But, what if you stopped waiting in their long lines and went to the small coffee shop with the made-from-scratch muffins and pastries? What if you didn’t give your friend a Target or Amazon gift card because those companies don’t need the support during this holiday season, but instead purchase a handmade piece of pottery from the woman who opened her own home décor shop? Shopping small is so important!

If you’ve been inside my home, you know that I decorate with unique pieces – from antiques and vintage to handcrafted items made with love. I prefer to have an individual style and one of a kind outfits as well. Most importantly, I love supporting small businesses because it means I’m helping support an entrepreneur’s dream. Some people enjoy and want to work in the corporate world, but those of us that do not typically find ourselves dreaming of launching our own business. Whether that means starting an online clothing boutique that eventually leads to a brick and mortar, learning how to be a barista to open a coffee shop, or becoming a yoga instructor to have your own studio one day. I am here to support your dreams, to help you become a strong entrepreneur, and to provide for yourself and your family.
