When I was asked to do a segment for live TV, I answered yes without really thinking about what I was getting into. I will share the link to the segment in this blog post once it airs, and I’m so excited because I honestly only remember half of what I said! Ha! I’ve never really been a fan of public speaking. I can lead meetings at work, but there is something about being in front of the camera that makes me nervous. The woman that conducted the interview was super nice and walked me through what we were going to do – about 30 seconds before filming began. It was honestly such a learning experience and I would love to do it again – because who doesn’t love to talk about food?!
The segment was to highlight Ohio’s favorite snack brand, Mikesell’s. I personally love their chips and puffcorn. While I lived in Nashville, I would buy bags of chips during my weekend visits home to Ohio and take them back to Tennessee, because it’s just that good. So this was a little bit comical to me when I was asked to partner with this brand. To accompany the chips, I made a BLT dip. The recipe is below and you can adjust most of the ingredients to your liking (see parenthesis with plus and minus signs).
As always, please let me know if you try this recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3 Roma tomatoes, diced (+-)
- 1 small onion, finely diced (+-)
- 1.5 cups Bacon, diced (+-)
- 1/4 cup diced scallions to garnish
Instructions:
1.) In a bowl, mix together the sour cream, mayo, bacon, onion, and tomatoes.
2.) Garnish with scallions.
Refrigerate if not serving immediately. To serve, use Mikesell’s Cheddar Groovy Chips.
